Sunday 8th March. Waves Start from 8.30am

Location:

Castle Combe Circuit, Upper Castle Combe, Chippenham SN14 7EY

Come join us for some thrilling, safe, traffic free duathlon racing at it's finest on the famous wide, super-smooth Castle Combe Circuit in Wiltshire. In addition you'll get all the usual thrills and benefits expected of the ultimate DB Max race experience!

Duathlon racing doesn't get much more thrilling than this. The first run is an accurately measured, fast and flat 5k route out on the race track, before exiting via the pit lane into transition and onto the bike. The 20.5k bike route is back out onto the circuit for another 7 laps (with lap splits) around the track before heading back into transition. The final 3k run is a lap of the perimeter track, with the finish left under the famous Avon Bridge and onto the red-carpet to the finish gantry.

Course Details:

Transition Area
Transition is located in the pit lane and is for competitors only.

Please familiarise yourself with transition before racing (including while racking your bike). A map of the transition layout is below.

As this is a championship qualifying race, only one pair of running shoes may be on the floor at any time during the bike segment of the race, and must be located within the competitor's transition area. If a competitor wishes to use two pairs of shoes, the second pair is to be left in a small soft bag (this could be a plastic supermarket bag).

Please note that no towels are permitted in transition at this event.

Duathlon Race Routes

Run 1: Competitors will start under the main gantry near the Tavern restaurant. The route goes out onto the main circuit in an anti-clockwise direction to the turn point. After turning, competitors complete a full lap of the track in a clockwise direction before exiting via the pit lane and following it down into transition.

Bike: The bike route is 7 laps in a clockwise direction around the track. Please note that you are responsible for counting your own laps - plan how you will do this to avoid mistakes on the day. The timing system will count laps and anyone not completing seven will be disqualified.

On completing the final lap, competitors will turn sharp left back up the pit lane and into transition – please take extreme care at this point of the course and ensure you brake early as advised by the signage.

Run 2: The final run is a lap of the perimeter track, with the finish left under the Avon Bridge and then right for the red-carpet run to the finish line.

Bike Route Rules

There are certain rules you must follow when on the bike route.

  • Even though the route is traffic-free, you must be aware of others around you at all times.
  • Helmets MUST be worn at all times you are in contact with your bike, including in transition.
  • Your transition area must be kept tidy at all times and you must rack in the area allocated to you.
